Class Visits

Professor of Ecology & Evolutionary Biology Don Croll teaches a course in field methods at Younger Lagoon Reserve.

One of the primary uses of Younger Lagoon Reserve is hosting classes on topics ranging from ecology to botanical drawing, field methods to geology. Younger Lagoon Reserve is particularly valuable for teaching because much of the reserve is protected from disturbance and closed to recreation.  To arrange to bring your class to the reserve, please begin by emailing Reserve Field Manager, Vaughan Williams (vwilliams@ucsc.edu).  Class visitors also must apply through our Reserve Application Management System (RAMS). Once your application has been approved, you will be able to make a reservation through the RAMS system for your group to visit on a given date.  All class visitors must also have a current waiver on file (use the group waiver for larger classes).
